EVALUATIONS
Evaluation is useful in aiding both the supervisor and the employee in assessing performance and making a decision as to the effectiveness of programs and services. The Miron Student Center has a formal evaluation process, which was designed as a basis for continuing employment.
Performance will be evaluated on a daily as well as a periodic basis. Daily evaluations occur every time you work. If problems or concerns arise, the supervisor and employee will discuss the situation in question. At that time, they will be placed on a two week probation period to raise the employees' performance. Supervisors have the discretion to create a formal action plan for the staff member to follow as part of their performance evaluation.
Twice each semester, employees will receive formal evaluations (mid semester and final). At this time, if an employee's performance is deemed unsatisfactory, they will be placed on probation for a specific time period. If at the end of the probationary period the employee has not improved in the area(s) in question, the employee may be terminated.
APPEAL PROCESS:
If you feel that your performance is misrepresented by the evaluation; there are routes of appeals that you can take. They should be followed in the sequence listed below:
