Job Function: The Hub Attendant in The Miron Student Center (MSC) is a paraprofessional staff member whose main purpose is to assist The MSC Management Team in daily operations. The primary function of the Hub is to provide high-quality customer service and an inviting environment to encourage student engagement by connecting with student leaders from Student Government, Greek life, and Student groups/Clubs extensively trained in connecting students to involvement opportunities and providing student group consultation and mentoring services. Patrons can also access job opportunities and learn about participating in student groups and activities.
Expectations of Technology Lounge Attendant:
Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Must be able to attend bi-weekly departmental and monthly MSC All-Staff meetings.
Must maintain a minimum of 12 credits per semester
Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operation of The Hub and the media center
Check-in patrons
Monitor the patrons utilizing The Hub’s technology
Actively engage with students, faculty and staff
Maintain and monitor the use of supplies
Completes hourly rounds within The Hub in addition to opening or closing forms
Document equipment concerns to ensure work orders are submitted promptly
Assist with assigning resources within the Hub/ maintaining flow of access to Hub areas
Assist with HUB program development and implementation and MSC projects as needed
Promote events schedule in The Hub
Ensure coverage of the Hub space during the shift
Connect Kean students with leadership, involvement and service opportunities on campus
