Operations Safety Instructions
The following list identifies pertinent areas and procedures for which Operations Staff members must be attentive to in preventing a fire:
Storage (tables, chairs, etc.)
Should be neat and orderly
Should be stored twenty-four inches (2Ft.) below the ceiling
Garbage cans and Pallets must not be up against the walls or doors
Garbage must be disposed of properly and should not be stacked in the hallways
Only auxiliary heaters provided by facilities are to be used
Space heaters and fans must be three feet away from surrounding surface, and should be kept away from combustible units and must be unplugged at night
Nothing is to be placed on heaters at any time
There should be a thirty inch clearance around electric panels
There should be one surge protector per outlet and it must have a UL or FM and reset button
Surge protectors must not be connected to each other
Multi-plug adaptors are prohibited
Extension cords are not for permanent use by vendors
Any open wiring or electrical boxes without covers should be reported immediately
Fire extinguishers must not be blocked
Hallways and Exit sign areas should be clear
Any unlit Exit sign must be reported immediately to the Management Team.
