Information Desk Policies & Procedures

Miron Student Center Lost & Found Policy

When an article is turned into the MSC Information Desk, the staff makes every effort to identify and contact the owner.  If an owner is not identified, cannot be reached or does not retrieve items, the following is to occur:

Valuables: Wallets, Purses, Driver’s Licenses, Jewelry, Electronics, Cell phones, Keys

THESE ITEMS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO KUPD.  The Miron Student Center does NOT responsibility for these items.  DO NOT ACCEPT THEM.

Kean ID’s:  Student will be contacted, after contacted the ID will be held in the MSC back office 

Personal Itemsclothing, sunglasses, umbrellas, phone/computer cords

Held at the MSC Lost and Found for 24 hours. After that time, all items will be discarded.

Academic itemsBooks (text/note) and flash drives

Held at the MSC Lost and Found for the semester (Flash drives are put into the small box in the cabinet).  After the semester has concluded, all items will be donated.

We do NOT accept the following:

PROCEDURES FOR VALUABLES LEFT BEHIND AT THE END OF THE NIGHT

Anything of value that is left in the Game Room or Computer Lab or something that is found by an MSC staff member at the end of the night must be taken to Kean University Police Dispatch.  Please complete the form as usual and sign off on the section of the form for “Property Being Taken to KUPD”.
