Miron Student Center Lost & Found Policy
When an article is turned into the MSC Information Desk, the staff makes every effort to identify and contact the owner. If an owner is not identified, cannot be reached or does not retrieve items, the following is to occur:
Valuables: Wallets, Purses, Driver’s Licenses, Jewelry, Electronics, Cell phones, Keys
THESE ITEMS ARE TO BE DIRECTED TO KUPD. The Miron Student Center does NOT responsibility for these items. DO NOT ACCEPT THEM.
Kean ID’s: Student will be contacted, after contacted the ID will be held in the MSC back office
Personal Items: clothing, sunglasses, umbrellas, phone/computer cords
Held at the MSC Lost and Found for 24 hours. After that time, all items will be discarded.
Academic items: Books (text/note) and flash drives
Held at the MSC Lost and Found for the semester (Flash drives are put into the small box in the cabinet). After the semester has concluded, all items will be donated.
We do NOT accept the following:
Personal hygiene items such as hair clips, brushes, makeup lotion, and hair products.
Footwear such as shoes, sandals, socks
Any kind of headgear (hats, skull caps, etc)
Contacts, solutions
Earbuds/plugs
Towels
Any food or drink or items that contain food/drink such as bottles, mugs or lunch bags
Chemical or medical items such as cleaning solutions or prescription drugs
Random papers (loose)
ANYTHING of value: (backpacks, wallets, phones, computers)
PROCEDURES FOR VALUABLES LEFT BEHIND AT THE END OF THE NIGHT
Anything of value that is left in the Game Room or Computer Lab or something that is found by an MSC staff member at the end of the night must be taken to Kean University Police Dispatch. Please complete the form as usual and sign off on the section of the form for “Property Being Taken to KUPD”.
Procedures to complete an Online Work Order Request
Go to www.kean.edu
Select “Offices” tab located at the top right side of the page.
Scroll down the page and select “Facilities and Campus Planning”
Select “Facilities online work order request”
Log in Email Address (uca@kean.edu) Password: mscstaff
Click “Submit”
The default account setting. Please do not change the information.
Location: Complete the necessary information to process the work order.
Please be as descriptive as possible.
Location (Select Main Campus)
Building (Select the Miron Student Center)
Area (Select the appropriate floor where the room is located)
Area/Room Number (Choose the exact location and/or room number)
Select Problem Type:
Select the appropriate field that best describes the issue.
Only one problem type can be selected per work order.
Please describe the problem or request. (This is a required field.)
Please be as descriptive as possible when completing this field.Enter the location name or room number in description.
i.e. Two lights are out in the MSC Game Room above the pool tables near the main entrance.Step 5. Attachment (Please skip)
Step 6. Submittal Password:
Enter (password) in the password field.
Select “Submit”
