Job Function: The Miron Student Center Student Assistant is a paraprofessional staff member whose main purpose is to assist in the daily operations of the Miron Student Center Operations and Event Management office. The primary function of the Student Assistants is to provide high-quality customer service to all Miron Student Center patrons.
Expectations of Student Assistants:
Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Hours of availability must be between 9:00 am-5:00 pm (Monday through Friday)
Must be able to attend bi-weekly departmental meetings as well as monthly All-Staff meetings.
Must maintain a minimum of 12 credits per semester
Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
Responsibilities:
Student Assistants must have full knowledge and command of the Miron Student Center policies and procedures.
Provide a welcoming atmosphere to patrons when entering the office
Assist with the daily management of all MSC social media pages
Provide accurate and clear information while handling incoming student or professional phone calls
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked office area
Assist with the scheduling and interviewing of candidates to select potential team members
Properly handle files for future retrieval
Assist professional staff members with paperwork, office coverage, and organization
Participate or assist with Miron Student Center hosted events
Assist with coordinating a successful vendor event by contacting vendors, collecting documentation, and creating display signage
Execute presentations for all staff training
Assist with the development and implementation of MSC social media outlets
